Archetypal's Framework

Overall, Archetypal's Calibrating Mindset for Operational Risk Decision Making Model depicts two polarities; limiting and over-extended. Each polarity presents a potential hazard when the individual drifts from the centre, where the polarities stabilize each other.

More specifically, each segment includes a mindset trio and provide great resolution in understanding a specific human challenge. A person can be too fainthearted or overconfident, yet the model helps us remember that the sweet spot lies in a balance between these two mindsets. Faint-heartedness keeps us aware, and courage propels us into the demands of the situation. These trios subdivide further for a more granular understanding (Human Journey Card Deck).

Eight mindset trios progress from left to right in the model. The aim is to attain a balanced acceptance between denial and resignation, then and courage between faint-heartedness and overbold, before one can move on to connection a balance between isolation and entanglement. And so on. The value of the balance is self-evident in managing hazards. For example, elevating oneself from showing up in a mindset of pure deception, sowing the seeds of mistrust, and elevating to an individual who seeks and speaks the truth without disruption, without question is a good thing in HPC environments. We all know that Truth is needed to make good decisions, so there is utility in strengthening the pathways toward telling the Truth.

Archetypal's Process

The process of putting words to human struggles can be uncomfortable at times. Yet by combining these parts of ourselves, we find our way to consistently solve the challenges we have navigated for a very long time. This process has utility because the tension between seemingly opposing personality aspects is where we find our most effective decision making accuracy.

Our programs start comfortably with case studies that provide an arm's-length view of many aspects of the human condition. We then gently step into putting ourselves in the hot seat. The result is that we nurture consciousness of the unsavoury ways we can show up, and come to the realization that the aspects of ourselves we often shun, are part of a much needed skill set, given the right situation.
