Fire Keepers

Men’s Group

Fire is a means of nurturing community and a tradition that runs deep in the history of humanity. Humans circled around fire, has always meant safety, security and comfort. Fire and its use for community building is sacred. The craft of building, tending, and feeding both flame and human is a tradition worth honoring and preserving with reverence. Fire, practiced in this way, heals. It is with this in mind, that we enter into this men’s group.

The implicit expectation of men in our society is to provide for others, and to never show emotion or need support. Men give a great deal to the functioning of our society, yet there is profound suffering in their ranks. Men dominate homelessness, suicide, military death and occupational fatalities.

This discussion group is designed to build safety, security, comfort and community for men. A place to express openly without judgement. Join us around a beautifully crafted bow drill fire, that your team lights and tends, for a meaning filled experience. This workshop is not counseling, but rather individual and community development. The process we engage with will help you access the guiding wisdom of yourself and the group to which you belong.

You will leave the eight week program with these gifts for yourself, your family and communities:

1) A deeper ability to accept yourself and others.

2) Additional tools in your “Courage” tool box.

3) A practice of listening, hearing, and ability to connect.

4) Greater self knowledge.

5) A practice of being guided by your own inner wisdom.

6) A deeper connection to your source, which itself eludes our senses, but the observable results are nearly everywhere we look.
